Pada tahun 1977 Achmad Albar (God Bless) dengan Ucok Harahap (AKA) membuat Duo Kribo. Mungkin ini di ilhami dari persamaan mereka yang berambut kribo.

Duet Duo Kribo ini memang berhasil menarik perhatian pecinta musik rock apalagi album-album Duo Kribo berhasil sukses dipasaran. Diantaranya lagu-lagu yang terkenal adalah Neraka Jahanam, Panggung Sandiwara dan Penari Jalang.

Lagu Panggung Sandiwara yang dibawakan Duo Kribo menghasilkan hits legendaris dan sangat terkenal sampai ke negara tetangga. Lagu tersebut juga pernah dipopulerkan kembali oleh Grace Simon, Nicky Astria, Nike Ardilla. Album yang telah dibuat oleh Duo Kribo sebanyak 4 album selama kurang lebih 2 tahun.

Setelah sukses dengan album musiknya kemudian mereka mulai merambah kedunia film dan membuat film Duo Kribo yang dirilis tahun 1978.

Keberhasilan Duo Kribo juga didukung oleh Ian Antono dan Yockie Suryoprayogo personil God Bless dimana Achmad Albar sebagai vokalisnya.

UCOK AKA

Ucok AKA Harahap lebih dikenal sebagai vokalis band AKA. Sejak berdirinya, Grup ini mengalami beberapa perubahan formasi hingga formasinya yang terakhir yaitu, Ucok, Syeh Abidin, Sonata Tanjung, dan Arthur Kaunang.

UCOK AKA adalah rocker indonesia dengan berbagai aksi panggung yang mencekam diantaranya,tubuhnya disalib diatas sebuah kayu, atau digantung dengan kepala dibawah, dan memakan hewan diatas panggung. Pernah juga Grup ini tampil dengan aksi panggung Ucok menggotong peti mati ke pentas.

AKA sering membawakan lagu-lagu Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad, Deep Purple, dan Jimi Hendrix, yang memang digemari anak-anak muda pada waktu itu.

12 album telah diterbitkan oleh AKA, yaitu Do What You Like (1970), Reflections (1971), Crazy Joe (1972), Sky Rider (1973), Cruel Side of Suez War (1974), Mr. Bulldog (1975), Pucuk Kumati (1977), AKA in Rock (1979), The Best of AKA (1979), AKA 20 Golden Hits (1979), dan Puber Kedua (1979). Crazy Joe dan Badai Bulan Desember adalah album yang termasuk paling laris.

Ucok adalah putra seorang apoteker bernama Ismail Harahap yang juga pemilik Apotik Kali Asin di Surabaya tahun 60-an. Nama apotik ini kemudian dijadikan nama Grup ini dengan disingkat menjadi AKA.

Sekitar tahun 1982, Ucok membentuk grup Duo Kribo bersama Achmad Albar dan meninggalkan AKA, yang kemudian berganti nama menjadi SAS (Sunatha, Arthur, dan Sjech Abidin).

Begitulah gayanya Ucok AKA, saat Jakarta Rock Parade Juli 2008, usianya yang sudah 69 tahun tidak membuat Ucok kehabisan akal untuk menampilkan atraksi menarik. Ucok tampil dengan membakar dupa dan menggantungkan kaki di atas panggung.

Ucok AKA pantas kalau disebut sebagai salah satu Penyanyi Rocker Indonesia Legendaris.

After left Metallica in 1983, guitarist / vocalist Dave Mustaine formed the thrash metal quartet Megadeth. Megadeth became one of the leading bands of the genre during the mid '80s and late '80s. By the early '90s, they had toned their music down slightly, yet that simply increased their following;

Throughout Megadeth's many lineup changes, the two core members were bassist Dave Ellefson and guitarist / vocalist Dave Mustaine (born September 13, 1961), who was the band's official leader. He formed Megadeth with Ellefson, Slayer guitarist Kerry King, and drummer Lee Rauch. This lineup was extremely short-lived, and Mustaine and Ellefson soon recruited guitarist Chris Poland and drummer Gar Samuelson.

For the next few years, Megadeth toured and gained a following, signing with the independent label Combat in late 1984. The following year, the group released their debut, Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!, which received strong reviews, not only in metal-oriented publications, but also in mainstream music magazines. By the end of the year, the group had signed with Capitol. Megadeth's first major-label album, Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?, was released in the fall of 1986. The new lineup debuted on So Far, So Good...So What!, released early in 1988. So Far, So Good peaked at number 28 on the charts and also eventually went platinum (despite less enthusiastic reviews).

By the end of the year 1990, he was not only sober, but he had reconvened the band, firing Young and Behler and replacing them with guitarist Marty Friedman and drummer Nick Menza. This lineup recorded Megadeth's fourth and most progressive album, Rust in Peace. The record peaked at number 23 on the American charts and went platinum. 1991 saw Metallica break through to the mainstream, and sensing the possibility for similar success, Mustaine followed suit in stripping down the band's sound, though it remained as technically perfectionistic as Rust in Peace. The result, Countdown to Extinction, was released in 1992, entering the charts at number two; the record went double platinum and became the band's biggest hit, confirming that they had retained their audience in the wake of grunge.

Now Megadeth moved further toward the mainstream with Youthanasia in 1994, which entered the charts at number four and, like its predecessor, went platinum. The following year, the group released Hidden Treasures, a rarities collection that featured some of the soundtrack tunes that had helped expand the group's MTV audience in the early '90s. 1997's Cryptic Writings found Megadeth fully embraced by album rock radio, which formerly would never have touched the band. Ex-Suicidal Tendencies drummer Jimmy DeGrasso signed on in 1998, in time for the following year's Risk. In 2000, following the release of the best-of Capitol Punishment, Marty Friedman followed Nick Menza out the door; he was replaced by former Savatage and Alice Cooper guitarist Al Pitrelli. After signing with the BMG subsidiary Sanctuary, Megadeth debuted its new lineup on 2001's The World Needs a Hero.

While on break from touring, Mustaine suffered a serious injury in January 2002 while staying in Texas. During his time off, Mustaine prepared an elaborate reissue campaign, remastering each album and reissuing them all with bonus material. This campaign set the stage for a Megadeth revival, which came in 2004-2005 with a surprising comeback album, The System Has Failed, and some heavy touring. Capitol released a new best-of, simply titled Greatest Hits, just as Megadeth hit the summer concert circuit, headlining Mustaine's own Gigantour festival. In 2007 Megadeth released the politically charged United Abominations.

Black Sabbath Paranoid Rock Music CD Review

The exceptionally talented Rock group Black Sabbath have released their CD entitled Paranoid. Paranoid literally grabs your attention right from the very first note with War Pigs / Luke’s Wall and doesn't let go until the very last note of the very last song Jack The Stripper / Fairies Wear Boots, which is another great track by the way.
Paranoid has a pleasantly varied, mix of 8 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly superb musicians. Overall Paranoid is an outstanding release. Quite possibly Black Sabbath's best to date. If you're even mildly into Rock music you'll enjoy this album.

While the entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 3 - Planet Caravan, track 6 - Hand Of Doom, and track 8 - Jack The Stripper / Fairies Wear Boots. My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - War Pigs / Luke’s Wall. This is a great track!

I've been in rock and roll all my life and I believe that Jimmy is the most brilliantly prolific of all the great rock and roll guitarists. As a songwriter, Jimmy used his superior ability to play lead guitar to create actual song structure. Jimmy's riffs differ from each other within each song, and also from song to song.

The intricate way in which he wove his bass guitar playing into, through, and underneath Jimmy's guitar playing is nothing short of perfection itself. CREATIVE SONGWRITING Hardly anybody has ever covered Led Zep songs for very good reasons. The Beatles certainly deserve abject worship for John and Paul's creative songwriting ability, no question about that.

I'm talking about 9 Led Zep albums chock full of brilliant and intensely high songs - I don't know how many hours of great rock and roll listening that is. STAGE PRESENCE Led Zep was there when the concept of "rock and roll star" was still evolving.

There will never be another rock and roll band to approach the stratospheric musical heights that Led Zep reached.

"Machine Head" - Deep Purple

The album kicks off with the fast-paced "Highway Star". One of their most recognizable songs, it boasts of complicated guitar and organ solos by Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord, respectively. Like most of the songs in this release, both tracks have more that its share of fretboard brilliance by Blackmore and keyboard fireworks by Lord. Compared to any lesser rock songs, this is defintely topnotch. The last three songs closes the "Machine Head" experience with a loud bang. "Smoke on the Water" doesn't need any introduction anymore. The next song "Lazy" sounds like a jam to me.

Perfect Strangers is the latest Rock CD released by the very group Deep Purple and they have once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. Overall Perfect Strangers is an outstanding release. Truly an outstanding Rock CD. While the entire CD is outstanding the truly standout tunes are track 2 - Under The Gun, track 6 - A Gypsy’s Kiss, and track 10 - Son Of Alerik.
